As You know, since April 2011 all new car learner permit holders will have to sit 12 driving lessons before being allowed to sit their driving test. A log book will be issued to parents or a gaurdian or nominated mentor where a number of hours supervised driving must be recorded in the log book and this must be signed by the supervisor and countersigned by a driving instructor before a learner driver write the driving test.

For A, A1, B, EB, M,W categories €85, all other categories is €120, first part of CPC Driving Test is €120, second part is €32, so all together €152.

Taking The Driving Test
The driving test for cars is 30-40 minutes and includes questions on the Rules of the Road (including identifying road signs), reversing round a corner, demonstrating hand signals, a hill start a U-turn in the road and driving approximately five miles in a variety of road and traffic conditions. There is no end, Your driving will be assessed in stopping  and reversing around a corner, driving in traffic, moving off, turning about, to face in the opposite direction and starting on a hill. Finaly, parking aspects of your driving assessed will include the road positioning, anticipation and observation, overtaking and passing, use of mirrors and signals, progress speed, compliance with traffic lights, road signs and markings. Use of the vehicle controls (accelerator, clutch, gears, brakes and steering) and use of secondary controls such as wipers, de-misters, etc. So, it's not easy but You don't need to worry about them if You learned from Calm Driving School.

Be sure your car is ready to Driving Test
Before taking your driving test, you should read the Final Checks for your driving test document and check Your Motor tax,NCT and insurance are fine.

After you pass The Driving Test
After you pass you test, the tester will issue you with a Certificate of Competency, which you can then exchange for a full driving licence at your local motor tax office. Don't forget, passing the driving test is not the end of the learning process! Continue to drive carefully and build up your experience in different traffic, lighting, weather and road conditions.
